Formal Registration

Under guidance of Late Pujya Mahant Sadguru Purani Swami Hariswarupdasji, Shree Swaminarayan Temple Sydney Inc. was registered as a non-profit organisation.
A formal structure to support growing activities and festivals.

Youth & Language

SSYM Sydney was established in the presence of esteemed Swamis from Bhuj — the first international branch of the Yuvak Mandal. Ghanshyam Gujarati classes also began.
Youth engagement and cultural education took root.
2012
A Permanent Home

A new site was secured after earlier setbacks. Bhoomi Poojan and Khat Muhurat were conducted in April in the presence of His Holiness Mota Maharajshree Tejendraprasadji Maharaj.
A landmark step toward a permanent spiritual home.
2013
Grand Opening

Construction completed in nine months. On January 18, His Holiness Acharya Maharajshree Koshalendraprasadji presided over the Murti Pran Pratishtha. GBM, Gujarati classes, and the Nilkanth Pipe Band & Lazium were all established.

Dharmik Education

Ghanshyam Dharmik classes launched using Bhuj Mandir materials, providing structured values-based education for children.
Spiritual education for the next generation commenced.

Shikhar Bandh Renovation

Significant renovations transformed the temple into a shikhar bandh structure adorned with a beautiful pink stone facade. GBM refreshed with a new logo and updated materials.
Facilities and branding updated to support future growth.

Music Blossoms

Ghanshyam Music classes expanded to include tabla, keyboard, and singing, deepening connection to the Sampraday’s heritage.

2022
Unity & Alignment

The Svadhyay international syllabus was introduced. The temple officially aligned under Bhuj Mandir — Sydney was the first temple worldwide to adopt the SSMB name.
